Hall & Room Hire
The Irish Centre & Fairfields Community Hall have a range of rooms which are available for hire to the whole community. We can provide spaces for meetings of 10 people or weddings of 200, as well as fitness classes and dancing.
All of our spaces rooms are accessible to all, with first floor rooms accessed via fully accessible lift.

Community hall
The Community Hall on the Ground Floor measures 12m wide by 15.5m long and approximately 187m2. Refurbished in 2021, the hall is a welcoming space which is flooded with light from the large windows on two aspects and has high ceilings, oak floors and downlights to provide a variety of lighting options. The hall has direct access to large, separate men’s and women’s toilets which were also re-fitted in 2021.
The hall can accommodate approximately 200 people and some of the previous and current uses include;

Hire is available by the hour and starts at £27 per hour
board room
Also on the Ground Floor and flooded with light from the large picture window is the Board Room, this room measures 4.3m x 4.6m and extends to 20m2. This room can accommodate approximately 16 people with tables and chairs available as part of the hire.
The room has access to a unisex toilet via the entrance hall, as well as tea and coffee making facilities.
Hire is available ad-hoc, or on a more formal basis and starts at £16 per hour.
The lounge baR
Our First Floor Lounge Bar is an inviting, comfortable space, with permanent bar, modern recently refurbished male and female toilets, as well as large perimeter windows flooding the space with light. The Lounge Bar also features a large dance floor and stage for bands, DJ’s or presentations. The Lounge Bar is open to the public and members of the Irish Society evenings and weekends but can be privately hired outside of these times for parties, meetings or general gatherings. Hire during normal opening hours is available, however members of the Society must still have access and as a result, functions unfortunately cannot be fully private during these hours.
The Lounge Bar also extends to 187m2 and can accommodate up to 200 guests.
The long room
Also on the first floor is what we refer to as The Long Room, this room measures 4.3m wide by 12m long and approximately 50m2. Benefitting from it’s own kitchen facility, the long room also has oak floors and an abundance of light following a refurbishment in 2021. This room has been used in the past for meetings of up to 30 guests, dance classes, band practice and language clubs. Toilet facilities are provided via the ground floor unisex facility, or within the adjacent lounge bar during normal opening hours.
Hire starts at £17 per hour and can be blocked booked, or by the hour for ad-hoc meetings.
The green room
Our latest room which has just been completed following a refit in 2022 is The Green Room. Styled on a 1930’s Prohibition Style ‘Speak-Easy’ bar, The Green Room is decorated in luxury colours, upholstery, carpets and fittings. Complete with it’s own bar with Hampshire’s largest offering of Irish Whiskey and interesting Gin’s, The Green Room can provide for private parties of up to 24 people, with an optional dedicated bar person who will be exclusively serving your party the coldest Arkell’s ale’s and lagers, the latest cocktails, finest Guinness and the rarest Irish Whiskeys.
The room is also available without the use of a bar as an interesting space to hold meetings and classes.
Hire starts at £16 per hour, bookable by the hour, or evening/day bookings.

Please see our calendar below for availability, tentative bookings are held for a maximum of two weeks and will be released if the deposit and signed T&C’s are not received within that time, so if a time you are after is showing as tentative, its worth getting in contact for our cancellations list should the hirer not proceed.
